Bangla TV is an England based satellite television channel aimed at Bengali speaking people in England and Europe. Bangla TV Live started experimental broadcasting in 1996. In 1999, Bangla TV officially started its journey as the first Bengali language television channel in England.
Until 2005, it was a paid channel. When a free and open channel called Channel S was launched, Bangla TV made its service free to survive in the competition. On July 1, 2010, Sky and Channel 7 canceled Bangla TV without any explanation. It returned on July 9.
